Rörtråd ESAB Shield-Bright 316L Typ Rutil
Extra low-carbon tube electrode of rutile type, developed for spot welding of acid-resistant stainless steels of types 316 and 316L, for example X3CrNiMo17-13-3 (SS2343), X2CrNiMo18-14-3 (SS2353) or equivalent steel according to other standards. The weld metal's low carbon content provides good resistance to intercrystalline corrosion but also to pitting and most types of corrosion in reducing and neutral solutions. Shield-Bright 316L can also be used for welding niobium-stabilized steels if these are not to be operated at temperatures above 400°C. Shield-Bright 316L complements Shield-Bright 316L X-tra, they can therefore be used together for maximum productivity where mixed welding conditions occur. The electrode welds spatter-free with a stable and calm arc, which gives an even, smooth string surface and self-dissolving slag.
